Driving Leadership for a Net-Zero Economy
World Climate Network is a C-level network that spans the globe and includes governments, business, finance and civil society. We plan engagement activities for our members throughout the year. Our activities serve our members in their aims for a swift transition to a net-zero economy and to meet the global goals outlined in the Paris Agreement.
At the heart of all our activities is our community. With our partners and members, we identify those coalitions, partnerships or initiatives that should be scaled up. We match stakeholders based on their profiles and strategies. We promote partnerships and initiatives through our network, through summits communications platforms and through selected partners.
The Network facilitates the building of impactful coalitions in order to develop innovative solutions and policies, and spark bold investments in climate. In 2019, for example, we facilitated US$55 billion in climate commitments from the Danish pension funds in our network. Going forward, we aim to build on the impactful coalitions we have developed so far.
Coalition Building & Partnerships
Climate Investment Coalition
World Climate Network also includes an unparalleled finance network through the Climate Investment Coalition. The Coalition engages with leading institutional investors, governments and other stakeholders in climate finance to mobilise
commitments for climate investments and reporting, and to share innovative best practices in climate finance. At COP26, it announced US$130 billion from Nordic and UK pension funds, to be invested in clean energy and climate investments by 2030 and to be reported on annually.
We offer helps our members to navigate the new opportunities associated with the transition to a net zero economy
The advisory service we offer helps our members to navigate the new opportunities associated with the transition to a net zero economy. We research and map the global trends that will impact the businesses of tomorrow. We connect members with key stakeholders in core sectors, such as energy, finance, industry, food, and health, identifying and highlighting examples of best practice from across our network. Guided by the UN Climate Action Pathways on Energy and Industry, and our conviction in the value of cross-sector collaboration, our transition pathways help our members to be at the forefront of the new green economy.
