For its inaugural launch, World Biodiversity Summit will help define what world leaders and the private sector in biodiversity and climate action need to do in the medium and long term to achieve sustainable development and hinder further biodiversity loss, focusing on partnerships and investment mechanisms as levers of progress. World Biodiversity Summit is a platform for responding to accelerating biodiversity loss, by using the Paris Agreement as a framework to learn from, promoting relevant solutions, innovations, and leadership networks, strengthening nature restoration and conservation. Nature-based solutions will be highlighted, from specificecosystems to global possibilities.

Karen Fang is Managing Director, Global Head of Sustainable Finance at Bank of America and serves on the company’s Management and Responsible Growth Committees. She works across BofA’s eight lines of business to drive the implementation of its firm-wide sustainable finance strategy and goal of mobilizing and deploying $1.5 trillion in sustainable finance capital by 2030. Karen is a leader in global net zero and sustainable finance forums, including groups organized by the G7, United Nations and World Economic Forum (WEF). She has been named one of Fortune’s “40 under 40”and a WEF Young Global Leader, among other recognitions. Prior to joining BofA, Karen held senior positions at Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch and Deutsche Bank. She earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Tokyo.
